Quality Assurance and Code Compliance Manager
Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance and Code Compliance Manager to work in its White Plains, N.Y. office. Within the Business Development and Asset Management Group of Power Generation, you will be responsible for providing leadership, managerial and technical direction as well as control and oversight for the Client’s corporate Quality Assurance and Code Compliance Programs.
In this position, you will administer and maintain the corporate policies and procedures governing our Assurance and Code Compliance Programs; provide oversight for the maintenance of files and documentation required to verify our compliance with the program and procedures as well as the construction permitting process; engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the requirements are satisfied; respond to internal and/or external audits and correct any deficiencies that might be identified; and engage in employee development and succession planning. You may also be required, to help manage the workload of the group, to review design specifications and plans, conduct field visits to construction and vendor locations, and perform inspections of equipment and construction work.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in engineering, along with a minimum of 15 years of quality assurance experience in the utility, or related, industry. Previous experience with applying the requirements of New York State Executive Law, Title 19, NYCRR, Part 1204, Uniform Code and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) fire protection and detection standards is desired. Knowledge of the engineering design process, construction activities/processes, and code and quality assurance requirements for new products, materials, and equipment and systems used in the building and utility industry is necessary. Familiarity with applicable industry standards, budgeting and accounting practices, procurement processes as well as Federal and New York State regulations is a must. Excellent planning, leadership, collaboration, decision making and communication skills are essential. Proficiency with computerized work management processes (i.e. - use of Maximo) is required. A New York State Professional Engineering License as well as Certification in “Basic Code Enforcement” are required ( the latter may be obtained post-employment.
